In Patna, two headmasters and a middleman were arrested on Saturday for their alleged role in recruiting fake teachers in Samastipur. Their arrests followed an investigation by a four-member committee appointed by Samastipur DM Yogendra Singh. The individuals arrested were headmasters Dilip Ram from Purushottampur Primary School, Avinash Kumar Tandon from Navtolia Primary School, and middleman Parvez Alam. The arrests took place in the Town police station area. A significant fraud was uncovered at Navtolia Primary School, according to a police source.

Following the discovery of the fake recruitment, multiple teachers are under scrutiny, and 12 are reportedly missing. The police revealed that the fake appointments were made instead of the candidates selected through BPSC, by manipulating the counseling process.

The DM stated, "Complaints were received regarding fraudulent appointments in BPSC TRE-2.0. After releasing the list of successful candidates in the BPSC exam and verifying their documents, the candidates' biometric thumbprints were taken. However, dishonest education department personnel appointed fake teachers by using the roll numbers and candidate IDs of the selected BPSC candidates who did not take up the position."

On September 7, a four-member committee was formed to investigate the matter. Based on the committee's findings, the headmasters and the middleman were arrested. An individual named Ranjana Kumari at Purushottam Primary School was identified as a fake teacher, and the appointments of teachers Nikhat Parveen and Tanuja Kumari at the same school are currently under investigation. The initial fraud in appointments was detected at this school, as reported by an official from the Town police station.
